Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Port Macquarie .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

    The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

    A good afternoon and eve photographing from Lighthouse Beach lookout. Ray gave a detailed document out prior and was kind enough to lend a tripod. He also gave good advice for the settings required.

    As usual Ray was generous in the sharing of his wide knowledge and very flexible in his delivery to cater for the varied skill level of the attendees. He was also very hospitable in changing the venue at the last moment due to weather conditions.

    Ray was excellent. He was able to clearly and concisely impart his knowledge while adapting to the needs of his participants. His coursework is really good and easy to understand. He made the morning both enjoyable and educational. 10/10

    I thought it was fabulous and exceeded my expectations. There were only 2 of us in the group so I was thrilled the class went ahead. Ray, the presenter, has incredible knowledge and a real ability to get it across to those less capable. A real skill. He provided excellent supporting notes as well. Most importantly I really appreciated the way Ray adapted the session to our individual ability, knowledge, interests and questions we asked. His personal and flexible approach to the session meant both of the participants left really feeling that we had learned so much. A most worthwhile experience

    Title or Location: Watonga Rocks, Port Macquarie
    A beautiful rainbow just on sunrise at Watonga Rocks, at Lighthouse Beach in Port Macquarie, Australia. The rainbow persisted for over an hour, allowing time to wade out into the surf to get the rainbow positioned just right for a photograph. I had to watch for breaking waves behind me while taking photographs to avoid bring dunked and I had to tun for it several times. Happily it all worked out and I captured a great images.

    Title or Location: In Lynnwood by the parking lot of my apartment
    I was soaking in the sun on a beautiful day with my camera and zoom lens when i spotted the dragon fly on the antenna of a car parked car close to my apartment. The vivid colors and the beauty of the moment was no lost on me and i immediately zoomed in with my Tamron 70-300mm lens. I was glad the dragonfly was in no hurry to fly away.
